Job Summary:

Devimpact Institute is seeking a passionate and experienced NGO Communication Specialist/ Consultant to design, implement, and deliver training programs that enhance the communication capacities of NGOs. The successful candidate will possess a robust background in communication strategy, digital media management, and stakeholder engagement, coupled with a proven ability to deliver impactful training. This role involves creating and delivering comprehensive training programs focused on communication strategies, digital communication, media management, and impact reporting for NGOs.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop comprehensive training curricula on creating and implementing effective communication strategies tailored for NGOs.
  • Provide expert guidance on aligning communication strategies with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Create training materials focused on conducting audience and stakeholder analysis to craft effective and targeted messaging.
  • Offer one-on-one mentoring to participants on applying these analyses to their communication efforts.
  • Develop training modules on strategies for effectively communicating the impact of NGO activities to stakeholders.
  • Guide participants in creating impact reports and communication materials that highlight their organization’s successes.
  • Facilitate workshops on developing and refining NGO brand messaging, including core messages, value propositions, and storytelling guidelines.
  • Lead training sessions on managing digital communication, including social media, website content, email newsletters, and digital campaigns.
  • Develop and deliver training on creating and executing media strategies for engaging with press and media outlets.
  • Offer training on writing for corporate publications, including newsletters and magazines, and framing narratives that resonate with stakeholders.

Requirements and qualifications

Additional education

  • Master’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.

Experience

Additional experience

  • Extensive knowledge and practical experience in NGO communications, digital media management, and stakeholder engagement, gained through a minimum of 5 years of experience.
  • Proven experience (portfolio) in designing, delivering, and evaluating training programs in communication or related areas.
  • Strong facilitation, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
  • Knowledge of digital communication strategies, media engagement, and crisis management.

Terms and conditions

Mode of Engagement

Successful consultants will be engaged whenever the training or consultancy opportunity becomes available. The consultant will be engaged on a part time basis for the duration of the training/consultancy assignment.
