Training Consultant – Monitoring and Evaluation

Devimpact Institute is an international research, capacity building and project management consultancy institution with its head offices in Nairobi, Kenya. We enhance the capacities of staff and support organizations in the areas of Research, Monitoring and Evaluation, Data Management and Analysis, Project Management, Accounting and Finance, Management and Leadership, GIS, Information Technology, Procurement Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Office Administration, Agriculture and Rural Development. We have a network of highly qualified and experienced trainers and consultants to provide high-quality training and consultancy services.

We are looking for a training consultant to facilitate trainings on Monitoring and Evaluation. The successful candidate will be engaged whenever a training or consultancy assignment becomes available on a revenue sharing model. Availability and flexibility is important for this role.

Responsibilities

Training Responsibilities

• Design and improve new training courses and modules in expertise areas;
• Apply appropriate training approaches to facilitate high quality training sessions;
• Design and improve the training materials, tools and training methods;
• Advice on content and process arrangements needed to optimize quality delivery of the training;
• Keep track of the participant’s learning curve during the training;
• Provide post training support to the participants;
• Develop proposals to acquire new training assignments.

Additional education

• Master’s Degree or higher qualification in M&E, Project Management, Statistics, or other related discipline

Experience

Additional experience

• Over 5 years of experience in project design and implementation using various M&E tools and frameworks
• Demonstrated experience in development and implementation of M&E systems;
• Experience designing and conducting project evaluations;
• Robust skills in the design of data collection instruments for use in M&E;
• Experience in employing adult learning and participatory training techniques

Additional skills

• Robust skill in M&E approaches including but not limited to RBM, LFA and participatory approaches;
• Excellent skills and experience in Impact Evaluation design and analysis;
• Understanding of project monitoring strategies
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with participants from diverse backgrounds

Mode of Engagement

Successful consultants will be engaged whenever the training or consultancy opportunity becomes available. The consultant will be engaged on a part time basis for the duration of the training/consultancy assignment.
