Overview

Metro East FM Limited is the leading Asian radio station in Kenya and also one of the radio stations under the Radio Africa Group. Metro East FM is looking for an innovative, informed and knowledgeable Social Media Executive.

Social Media Executive

Reporting to the Head of Social Media, the incumbent will be responsible for implementing the outlined social media strategy in line with the company’s objective and grow the numbers on the various social media platforms.

Responsibilities

Perform research on current benchmark trends and audience preferences.
Design and implement social media strategy to align with business goals.
Set specific objectives and report on ROI.
Generate, edit, publish and share engaging content daily (e.g. original text, photos, videos and news).
Monitor search engine optimization and web traffic metrics.
Collaborate with other teams, like marketing, sales and customer service to ensure brand consistency.
Communicate with followers, respond to queries in a timely manner and monitor customer reviews.
Oversee social media accounts’ design (e.g. Facebook timeline cover, profile pictures and blog layout).
Suggest and implement new features to develop brand awareness, like promotions and competitions.
Stay up-to-date with current technologies and trends in social media, design tools and applications.

Requirements and qualifications

Additional education

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related field
Diploma in journalism where there is no degree in journalism
An excellent writer
A minimum of 3 years of formal industry/professional experience in a similar position.
In-depth knowledge and understanding of social media platforms, their respective participants
