Overview

Metro East FM Limited is the leading Asian radio station in Kenya and one of the radio stations under the Radio Africa Group. We are looking for an experienced and creative Social Media Executive.

Social Media Executive

Reporting to the Head of Social Media, the incumbent will be responsible for implementing the outlined social media strategy in line with the company’s objective and grow the numbers on the various social media platforms. Candidates who speak and write Gujarati and Hindi and are highly encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

Perform research on current benchmark trends and audience preferences.
Design and implement social media strategy to align with business goals.
Set specific objectives and report on ROI.
Generate, edit, publish and share engaging content daily (e.g. original text, photos, videos and news).
Monitor search engine optimization and web traffic metrics.
Collaborate with other teams, like marketing, sales and customer service to ensure brand consistency.
Communicate with followers, respond to queries in a timely manner and monitor customer reviews.
Oversee social media accounts’ design (e.g. Facebook timeline cover, profile pictures and blog layout).
Suggest and implement new features to develop brand awareness, like promotions and competitions.
Stay up-to-date with current technologies and trends in social media, design tools and applications.

Requirements and qualifications

Additional education

Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related field
Diploma in journalism where there is no degree in journalism
An excellent writer

Experience

Additional experience

A minimum of 3 years of formal industry/professional experience in a similar position.
In-depth knowledge and understanding of social media platforms, their respective participants

Excellent time and deadline orientation.
Ability to keeps up with social media trends
Capable of juggling multiple assignment and related complexities at the same time.
A high degree of flexibility with seasoned coordinating skills
Excellent communication skills
Ability to work under pressure
An excellent eye for detail

A Self-starter who is also able to collaborate actively with others in a cross-functional team
