Senior Engineer (Structural)

Overview

Debroso construction company Limited is a company incorporated in kenya. It deals with road construction, building works and water works. We are looking for suitable and self-motivated individuals.

Responsibilities

Site supervision and quality control

• Oversee site construction activities to ensure compliance with design, quality standards, and safety regulations.
• Conduct regular site inspections and provide on-the-spot technical guidance and solutions.
• Verify that construction materials and methodologies align with design requirements and local building codes.
• Enforce quality assurance and quality control procedures on site.

Technical and project management

• Review and approve construction drawings, shop drawings, and technical documents.
• Provide technical expertise and leadership to resolve complex issues on site.
• Collaborate with other stakeholders, including clients, architects, and subcontractors, to ensure seamless project delivery.
• Liaise with local authorities to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Documentation and reporting

• Prepare and review technical reports, method statements, and risk assessments.
• Ensure all project documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and compliant with standards.
• Assist with the preparation of tender documents and bill of quantities as needed.

Health, safety, and team development

• Implement and maintain health and safety standards on site, including inductions and inspections.
• Mentor and provide guidance to junior engineers and other site personnel.
• Disseminate best practices and knowledge to the project team.

Additional education

• Hold a bachelor’s degree in Civil and Structural Engineering from a recognized university.
• Must be registered with the Engineers’ Board of Kenya as a Professional Engineer.
• Must have a valid current annual practicing licence.

• Having completed a course of instruction in Performance Based Road Maintenance Contract (PBC) as a contractor is an added advantage.

Additional experience

• Must have 10 years general Experience and 5 years Specific in structural construction and supervision (having worked with a contractor will be an added advantage).
