Organization Background
Qatar Charity is a leading Gulf-origin Non- Governmental Organization dedicated to carrying out humanitarian and development programs to fight global poverty by working in partnership with vulnerable communities of all faiths, race, gender or political beliefs.
Qatar Charity wishes to competitively recruit a Programs Manager to manage it’s various current and future Programs for its Kenya Office who will be based within the Republic of Kenya and on the following terms;
Job Particulars
Responsible for coordination, Communication, Monitoring, reporting and Liaison with key humanitarian actors and authorities to support an effective humanitarian response.
Advocate the rights of people in need; promote preparedness and prevention, and facilitate sustainable solutions
Responsibilities
- Monitors, analyzes and reports on humanitarian developments, disaster relief/Management or emergency situation in Kenya.
- Organize and prepares studies on humanitarian, emergency relief and related issues.
- Organize follow-up work, including on humanitarian emergency relief and related issues. Drafts and prepares regular situation papers/reports highlighting relevant operational factors affecting the humanitarian situation and response efforts.
- Prepares or contribute to the preparation of various written reports, documents and communication.
- Assist in the preparation, implementation and monitoring of the office's humanitarian work plan Partners with other humanitarian agencies to plan and evaluate humanitarian and emergency assistance Programs.
- Establish and maintains contacts with government officials other UN agencies, Nongovernmental organization, diplomatic mission.
- Undertakes detailed analysis of conflict dynamics and their impact on civilians and on humanitarian operation.
- Support advocacy initiatives on issues impacting humanitarian needs and response efforts through the collection of information, liaison with humanitarian partners, government official, the Media
- Organize and participate in working groups, meetings, conferences, consultations with other agencies and partners on humanitarian and emergency relief-related matters Perform other duties as required
Requirements and qualifications
Additional education
- Project Management / Development / Economics / Sociology / Business Administration (Masters preferred)
Experience
5 YearsAdditional experience
- Not less than 5 years' experience of progressively responsible experience in humanitarian affairs, emergency preparedness/crisis/emergency relief Management, development or other related area is required.
Additional skills
- Strong educational background, preferably in the field of Relief and Partnership officer or any social sector
- Work experience as a Relief and Partnership Officer for not less than 5 years
- Experience in Emergency / Crisis / Relief Management.
- Excellent written and verbal in English, Arabic is added advantage.
