Overview

Responsibilities
Vision & Strategy
- Inline with the Special Olympics International Global Strategic plan, Special Olympics Unified Leadership, set strategic goals for Special Olympics Kenya.
- Develop strategy to evaluate and track the progress in reaching the strategic goals.
- Uphold Special Olympics mission, vision, philosophy and principles.
- Develop strategies to assess and minimize risks to Special Olympics Kenya.
- Develop strategies to drive excellence in the organization including project management, people & practices.
Resource mobilization, Relationship Management & Networking
- Together with the board develop best practices for fundraising, diversification of revenue and management of organization’s resources.
- In line with Government of Kenya laws, Special Olympics International General Rules, Corporate/NGO good governance and management best practices develop/review policies that position Special Olympics Kenya as a cutting-edge non-profit organization.
- Negotiate or approve agreements and contracts for Special Olympics Kenya.
- Evaluate and track the success of the company in reaching its goals.
- Act as the primary spokesperson for the company.
Compliance
- Ensure compliance with Government of Kenya laws, Special Olympics Kenya constitution, Special Olympics International General Rules and other regulations.
- Manage Special Olympics Kenya organizational structure and communicate with the board of directors.
Operations & Management
- Manage overall operations and make major decisions affecting the organization.
- Help with recruiting new staff members and create an environment that promotes great performance and positive morale
- Oversee the Special Olympics Kenya fiscal activity, including budgeting, reporting, and auditing.
- Provide organization- wide leadership, identify and address problems.
- Oversee overall grants application, implementation and reporting.
- Manage & collaborate with staffing to ensure successful attainment of strategic goals in a Unified Leadership manner.
Requirements and qualifications
Additional education
Degree in business administration/Sports Management/project management or relevant field.
Experience
5 YearsAdditional experience
- Proven experience as CEO or in other managerial position.
- Experience in developing successful strategies and implementing vision.
- Strong understanding of corporate finance and performance management principles.
