Overview

A construction company located in Nairobi is looking to fill the position of an Assistant Quantity Surveyor. The position holder will be reporting to the Quantity Surveyor.

Responsibilities

Assisting the Quantity Surveyor in the following: -

Preparation of Bills of Quantities for various projects
Preparing and pricing of tender documents
Preparation of contract documentation
Preparation of contract documents for subcontract works.
Preparation of material schedules and assisting in material procurement
Cross checking materials being ordered with the quantities in the approved bills of quantities
Site measurements and re-measurements.
Project cost control and cost reporting
Preparation of financial appraisals
Preparation of interim valuations for the ongoing projects
Preparation of final accounts
Attendance of site inspections
Monitoring and reporting progress of various sites to the QS
Any other duties that may be assigned by the QS

Requirements and qualifications

Additional education

Degree in Building Economics, quantity surveying, or its equivalent.
Ability to read and interpret drawings and make reports
High level of Computer literacy
Fluent in English and Kiswahili

Experience

3 Years

Additional experience

Minimum of three (3) years’ experience as a QS in the construction industry especially in interior fit out works.
