Job description

Overview

The IT Officer will be responsible for installing and configuring computer systems, diagnosing hardware and software faults, and solving technical and application problems, to ensure all JD programs run smoothly.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities

  • Installing and configuring computer hardware, software, systems, networks, printers, and scanners
  • Monitoring and maintaining computer systems and networks
  • Responding in a timely manner to service issues and requests
  • Providing technical support across the company (this may be in person or over the phone)
  • Setting up accounts for new users and deal with password issues
  • Repairing and replacing equipment as necessary.
  • Testing and evaluating new technology
  • Conduct electrical safety checks on computer equipment.
  • Troubleshoot system and network problems, diagnosing and solving hardware or software faults.
  • Replace parts as required
  • Provide support, including procedural documentation and relevant reports.
  • Support the roll-out of new applications.
  • Verifying, validating, and certifying of ICT equipment; and Performing any other duties assigned from time to time.

Requirements and qualifications

Education

  • Bachlors Degree in Computer Science
  • Bachelors Degree in IT

Additional education

  • University degree in computer science, Information technology, or related field.
  • Certification in IT is desirable.

Experience

3 Years

Additional experience

  • A minimum work experience of 3 years in a similar position.
  • Proficiency in network administration, network infrastructure design, topology, configuration, and troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency in internet connections and protocols.
  • Proficiency in desktop applications, software & Hardware troubleshooting.
  • Experience working with an NGO will be an added advantage.
  • Experience working remotely would be an advantage.

  • Manages time effectively as well as flexible and available to work over-time when needed.
